Pimples, cysts, ingrown hairs, OH MY!

Most women have to deal with a cyst or a pimple on or around your V eventually. If you haven’t yet, you have been blessed, my friend! They are annoying, sometimes they hurt and can be hard to get to (mirrors will become your BFF). There are many ways to get these buggers and we’re here to tell you why they pop up and the best ways to prevent and treat them.
Shaving and waxing is a common way to get pimples, especially if it’s your first time.

These can come from your skin being sensitive to the wax (being either the wax ingredients or the temperature) and your pores become exposed after doing it, which can result in whiteheads. After shaving or waxing, you can also get ingrown hairs that can result in a little pimple over the hair. Pimples can also come from sweating or chafing against your undies.

The best way to approach them is based on where they are located. If they are located on your bikini area try to let the pimple or cyst go away naturally. This will prevent scarring and potentially hurting yourself. (if you can't help to not pop them, please be careful!). If they are located closer to your vagina, definitely don't try to pop them but keep an eye on them. And if they are not going away or too painful, it would be in your best interest to see your doctor.

Next time you shave, make sure you are using a clean razor. Exfoliate beforehand and moisturize afterward! An ingrown hair oil could work in place of a moisturizer, too. Also wearing clothes that won't chafe against your bikini area or cause you to sweat will be beneficial. Despite all this, remember that getting vaginal pimples can happen to anyone and isn’t the end of the world!
