This Valentines Day, whether you are single or with someone special (could be your partner or your dog or your mom, no judgey), we want you to, of course, share your love with people around you but really focus on yourself. As we all say, you can’t love anyone before you love yourself. Here are some tips to practice the power of self-love!
Yes, it can be good to look up to people that inspire you but a lot of the time we tend to overdo it. We can be so hard on ourselves and overthink. When we see a female blogger in Hawaii, soaking up the sun, looking great as she does it, we look around and we are automatically disappointed. Sure we wish we could be like that, but there is so much that we should be thankful for! And remember that those Instagram influencers have their bad days, too. Look around and focus on the good things in your life and embrace that.
Energy sure can flow from person to person. If you surround yourself with people that hold negative and angry energy, that will flow into you, too. May as well be connected with people that radiate positive energy so that you can soak in that goodness and spread it.
This might be the most important bit. Treat yo’self!! Do something so extra because why not? Draw yourself a bubble bath (with Pop the Bubbly, of course, wink wink), light some candles, put on a face mask, listen to jazz and feel like the biggest bougie lady in the world. Because why not? And then eat 10 cupcakes. Because why not? And buy yourself a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Because WHY NOT? You deserve it more than you know.Declutter
I know this sounds awful but trust me, it really makes a difference. Something about decluttering your living space also declutters your internal thoughts and makes you feel just a bit lighter than you were before. And plus you get a cleaner space out of it. Win, win! So listen to some music and whistle while you work.
What will it be today? I am strong? I am confident? I am stable? Take a look at yourself and recognize something positive to focus on throughout the day. When you find yourself struggling, circle back to the affirmation you made for yourself and manifest it. This can change the outlook on your day!
This one is a difficult one. It’s uncomfortable but is necessary. You can only say yes to so many things before you get overwhelmed. It's important to set boundaries for yourself and know when to say no because it is totally valid and okay. People will ultimately respect you for it and it will help you in the long run.
