As our team has transitioned to working from home, we’ve been able to learn to appreciate things we hadn’t before. We reflected on what our time during this self-quarantine has taught us, and what we've learned to appreciate!
Lauren: Appreciate nature. Being able to take a walk every day has been my favorite part of the day. I don’t know what I would do without being able to take a breath of fresh air.
Blaize: It’s taught me to be present, and to enjoy the little pleasures in life! I’ve been able to spend quality time with my dog (she’s loving this new WFH routine), long walks, and actually having a conversation with my neighbors! I live in a small complex so it’s crazy that we haven't all talked before this. Now we have a group text going, and we’re all supporting each other in whatever ways we can. I’ve also had the opportunity to start painting for fun again, and learn my tarot cards!
Stefanie: It’s crazy to say as we’re unable to see each other in person but I feel like that gap of physical connectivity has motivated everyone to talk more than normal and be more connected than ever digitally. From daily conversations with my family to zoom happy hours with friends it feels everyone is valuing relationships more than ever before!
Lisa: Technology is amazing, and this experience has reminded me to step up my communication with friends who are overseas or on the other side of the county to FaceTime rather than just texting. Seeing someone’s reaction in real time makes such a big difference.
Stephanie: It’s taught me to make extra time for myself. I’m reconnecting with old hobbies of mine that I used to do religiously but slowly stopped when I started my career. Painting, taking (non-work related) photos, perfecting my breakfast recipes and coffee are all things that I’ve learned to appreciate a lot. I’ve also been able to appreciate my life slowing down a bit. Being able to make and eat breakfast at home is something I cherish instead of rushing out the door.
